Origine

Commissioned by a winemaker friend, Origine depicts a view of Lake Geneva as seen from one of his vineyards, between the vines, the lake, and the Alps. The work is composed of tens of thousands of prints made with India ink. A single stamp is repeated to gradually reveal the landscape: a small drop, directly inspired by the label of his biodynamic Chasselas, À l’Origine. From a distance, the landscape comes into view. Up close, it breaks down into thousands of drops. A work that explores terroir, repetition, and perception, where a tiny mark ultimately comes to define an entire region.
